How To Color // Creating and using Flats
// transferring to the channels palette

The final stage of this is actually transfering the flats from the Layer tab to the Channels tab.

This is very easy to do.

Hide your Inks layer in the Layer Tab, Leaving you with only the shades of Gray and the white background. Make sure that you are in the leyer where your Flats are located.

Go to Select > All or click Option+A (for Mac users) or Control+A (for Windows Users).

Go to Edit > Copy Merged.

The difference between Copy and Copy Merged is that the latter can copy everything visible on your canvass as opposed to the former which will only copy the objects on the active layer.
