The hips are again a variable an artist can play with, as long as its not as small as two heads side-by-side, without the ears as variables. Contrary to some may think, you can actually make a woman's shoulder look wider and won't make her look masculine. Wide shoulders, a small waist and relatively wide hips could make for a sexy figure. The length of the arms are also something I see in beginners that tends to be a problem. From shoulder to elbow, its about one and half heads high. From elbow to wrist, is about one and 1/4 heads, or around the level where the torso ends and the thighs begin. Now that the stick figure somewhat has the right propotions, let's flesh her out. |
Shoulder width is another variable on the human body where you can more or less have your on take on. But usually I size the width of the shoulders at two heads, side-by-side, ear to ear. Do not go smaller than two heads side-by-side, or you'll end up with a weird-looking character.
