Fan-ART Friday: Freddy Krueger

A Nightmare on Elm Street introduced me to the horror genre. It was the movie that I was old enough to watch (albeit on TV and had lots of edits), it was enough to scare the living crap out of me back then. The movie did brought on nightmares as a child, but that movie got me hooked, and as I got older I sought out the greatest of them and now have them in my collection as an adult; Exorcist, Poltergeist, Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, etc.

Halloween is near, so I opted to draw my favorite serial killer of them all.

As for the drawing, you may wonder why I didn’t try to get the likeness of the great Robert Englund (after all, he will always be Freddy Krueger). The reason is because I based it loosely on me (yeah I know, vanity and all that), but as a child I always wanted to have a Krueger costume for halloween.

Drawn entirely on Painter 12 with post-processing in Photoshop CS5.

I love it. I’m a huge fan of (the original) Nightmare On Elm St.

Very nice! Now I will think of you when I come across the Freddy costume at my work haha!

Very awesome though! I’m not much for horror movies (as I don’t like being scared poopless) but I rather enjoy the characters 😀
